Previously named European F-3 the competition became an almost mandatory step for drivers with pretensions to follow the path to the F-1, which means FIA F3 and FIA F2.

Thus, in his first year in the category, competing for the Fernando Alonso’s team, Bortoleto accumulated two podiums and a lot experience.

In 2022, the Brazilian competed for the French team R-Ace GP, champion of the category in 2021. The debut took place at the end of January, when the driver participated in the F-Regional Asian, formerly F3 Asian, winning right away in his debut race at Yas Marina Speedway in Abu-Dhabi. Still in the Middle East, in preparation for the European Championship, Bortoleto competed in the Dubai race, accumulating another podium. In the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine season, Bortoleto concluded the year in sixth place, with two victories and pole position in the last stage of the year, in Mugello – ITA, as highlights.

In 2023, following the natural course of his career, Bortoleto competed in the FIA F3 Championship. This category, which competes as a preliminary in 10 F1 World Championship events, opened the doors of the F1 Paddock to the Brazilian driver. In a fantastic season Gabriel led the championship from the first weekend and became Champion with a 45 point advantage over second place.

Due to his excellent results in F3, Gabriel was invited to join the McLaren F1 team’s young talent program from 2024, a season in which he also competed in the FIA F2 Championship – the final step in a driver’s career before F1. In a year of great growth and fierce competition until the last stage, Bortoleto was also crowned F2 champion in his debut year.

Due to his impressive career trajectory, the young Brazilian was then invited by the Sauber team (AUDI) to join the world’s top motorsport category – Formula 1. Bortoleto will make his debut in the 2025 season on a multi-year contract with the Swiss team.

SPORTS CURRICULUM
Name: Gabriel Lourenzo Bortoleto Oliveira
Born: 10/14/2004 (20 y/o)
City of born: Sao Paulo – Brasil
Current Residence: Milan – Italy

2024 – FIA F2 Championship
Invicta Racing
Champion – 214,5 points
2 victories | 6 Podiuns

2023 – FIA F3 Championship
Tridend
Champion – 165 points
2 victories | 6 Podiuns

2022 – Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine
R-Ace GP
6th place – 176 points
2 victories | 1 Pole-Position

2021 – Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine
FA Racing
5th Place Rookie Division

2020 – F4 Italian Championship
PREMA Power Team
5th Place | 157 points
1 win | 4 podiuns

2019 – Karting (OK)
CRG Factory Team
WSK Super Master Series
CIK/FIA European Championship
CIK/FIA World Championship

2018 – Karting (OK Junior)
CRG Factory Team
Champion – Swedish Karting Championship
3rd Place – CIK/FIA World Championship
3rd Place – CIK/FIA European Championship
Vice-champion – WSK Super Master Series
Vice-champion – Andrea Margutti Trophy

2017 – Karting (OK Junior)
CRG Factory Team
7th Place – CIK/FIA World Championship
8th Place – CIK/FIA European Championship

2014 – Karting (Cadete)
Champion of Brazilian Karting Open Championship
Vice – Champion Super Kart Brazil
3rd Place– Brazilian Karting Championship

2012 – Karting (Mirim)
Champion of Brazilian Karting Open Championship
Vice – Champion Brazilian Championship
Vice – Champion Paulista Championship

2011 – Karting (Mirim)
Start in races

Coming from a victorious career in Brazilian and European karting, when he peaked with third place in the 2019 World Championship, Gabriel Bortoleto reached his first season in formula cars in 2020 by the front door.
