Gabriel Bortoleto debuts at Silverstone in the seventh round of the FIA F3

Leading the championship with a significant advantage, Brazilian driver faces a new challenge in England

Less than a week after leaving Austria, the drivers and teams of the FIA F3 have already arrived at the Silverstone circuit in England, which will host the seventh round of the Championship. Leading the standings with a 36-point advantage over the second-placed driver, Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto’s biggest challenge of the weekend will be the fact that he has never competed on that track before.

In 2023, Gabriel Bortoleto has been having a consistent season and, above all, a very clear goal of winning the championship. With full technical support from the Italian team Trident, which has provided him with the best group of engineers and mechanics, the 18-year-old driver has been demonstrating his talent and boldness race after race. After a dominant start, winning the feature race in Bahrain and then in Australia, Bortoleto has continued to score well in every weekend and currently has 111 points.

The seventh round of the Championship will be held on one of the most traditional tracks in world motorsport. The Silverstone Circuit, which has witnessed memorable battles in the history of motorsport, currently has a layout of 5.891 meters, featuring 18 corners, three straights, and long stretches of full-throttle acceleration. Known for its high-speed nature, the current lap record is held by Estonian driver Juri Vips with a time of 1m43s902 set in the 2019 season.

The schedule for the English weekend will begin on Friday with the only free practice session followed by qualifying. On Saturday, the Feature Race will take place, with the starting grid determined by the reversal of the top 12 positions from the qualifying session, and finally, on Sunday, the Feature Race. The entire program will be broadcast live on Band Sports.

“I am very happy to have the experience of competing for the first time on this circuit. I have dedicated a lot of time to simulator training, both at the team headquarters and at home, and I definitely liked the layout. Let’s go for it, the team has prepared extensively for the weekend, which strategically holds great importance in my championship fight. I count on the support of everyone and I am extremely grateful for the growing support and cheers,” commented the 18-year-old driver.
