After six rounds the driver is back in Brazil and prepares for the European season

The Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto is back to Brazil. After two intense weekends disputing the six first rounds of the Formula Regional Asian Championship, the young 17 years old arrived in São Paulo with more important luggage for his career.

Facing a 28 drivers grid of different parts of the World, the Formula Regional Asian Championship started with three races on the 22nd and 23rd of January in Abu Dhabi. On the next weekend, in Dubai, the competition had its 4th to 6th rounds.

Debuting for the R-Ace GP team, after the full European season in 2021in another team, Bortoleto used the first two weekends of the F-Regional Asia as a preparation for the European Championship, which will begin only in April. Thus, in this super intensive two weeks and six races, the driver could learn a lot about the car and, above all, know the working system of his new engineers and mechanics.

The experience was certainly very fruitful. Bortoleto won one of the races at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu-Dhabi and, in the other five races; he was always in the first pack showing the new team all his potential for speed, responsiveness and constancy in the races.

“I am very happy for what we have been able to develop in these two weeks in the United Arab Emirates. I had a very good experience with the new car and the people I will be working with all season in the European Championship. The equipment proved to be fast and reliable and, on the other hand, facing the main opponents I’ll have ahead of me this season, I could show that I am there to really fight for the title”, commented the 17-year-old.

Gabriel will dedicate himself in February and March to prepare for the European Championship in regular physical and simulator training sessions. In addition, in the upcoming days, the driver will also have news about a new challenge in his career.
