Brazilian driver takes on a brand-new challenge on the streets of Miami
Young Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto returns to the track this weekend (May 2–5) for the sixth round of the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. This time, the challenge awaits on the streets of Miami, in the United States. Representing Stake F1 Team | Kick Sauber, Bortoleto will face yet another new circuit in his rookie season in the premier category of world motorsport.
It will be the 20-year-old’s first time tackling the demanding street layout built around Hard Rock Stadium, home of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. The 5.412-kilometer circuit is renowned for its high speeds, technical sections, and the impressive infrastructure that transforms the sports complex into a true Formula 1 stage.
“Miami is a track I have never had the chance to race on. I am really looking forward to uncovering all of its secrets. I have always watched the races here on TV, and the setup looks truly impressive. I spent a lot of time on the simulator after Jeddah to learn every detail of the circuit, and now I am ready to take it on for real. There is still a lot to learn during the sessions, and unfortunately, we will only have one free practice to put everything into action before the Sprint qualifying. I feel prepared to give my absolute best this weekend. Let’s go,” said a confident Bortoleto.
Pirelli, the official tire supplier for Formula 1, will bring its softest range of compounds to Miami: C3, C4, and C5, promising even more excitement in race strategies.
This round will follow the Sprint weekend format. Friday will feature one free practice and qualifying for the Sprint Race. Saturday will host the Sprint Race itself followed by qualifying for the Grand Prix, while Sunday is always reserved for the main race. In Brazil, fans can follow Friday’s action on BandSports, while Band will broadcast Saturday and Sunday’s events on open television.
With a focus on constant growth and strong adaptability to the most demanding calendar in global motorsport, Gabriel Bortoleto continues to earn his place and respect on the Formula 1 grid. The Miami round marks yet another significant step in his promising journey.
