Gabriel Bortoleto heads to Spa seeking another F2 victory

The 10th round of the Formula 2 World Championship will be held in Belgium this weekend

After last weekend’s races in Hungary, the Formula 2 drivers and teams have arrived this weekend in the city of Stavelot, Belgium, for the tenth double-header round of the Championship.

Currently in third place in the standings, Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto arrived at the Spa-Francorchamps track with great enthusiasm. Experiencing an upward trend this season, the young driver from São Paulo aims to return to victory this weekend. This would bring him closer to the battle for the lead in the standings, and in the final four races of the season, he plans to employ all his skill and daring in pursuit of the title.

A unanimous favorite among drivers across all categories, the Spa-Francorchamps track offers speed enthusiasts a feast of velocity, adrenaline, and technical prowess. The longest track on the F2 calendar features a layout of 7.004 meters, with only 19 corners. Its characteristics favor high speed, and Dutch driver Nicky De Vries, with a time of 1m56s054 and an impressive average speed of 217,26 km/h, holds the record. This weekend’s races will consist of 18 laps for the Sprint Race and 25 laps for the Feature Race.

“I am happy with my current position in the Championship. This is my first year in the category, and I am learning a lot each weekend, naturally becoming more competitive and, most importantly, consistent. The level of competition is extremely high, and being in the direct fight within the Top 3 gives me even more energy to push further. Competing at Spa is always great fun. Many high-speed sections captivate all drivers. I have had good performances here in other categories, and I really hope to fight for victories,” concluded the driver, sponsored by McLaren, Banco BRB, Porto, Ebury, Snapdragon, and Barthelemy.
