Gabriel Bortoleto takes on the challenging Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the first time in Canada

After a promising weekend in Barcelona, Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto arrives motivated for the Canadian Grand Prix, taking place from June 13 to 15 at the iconic Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. This will be the first time the Osasco (SP)-born driver tackles the Canadian track — one of the most emblematic and technically demanding circuits on the Formula 1 calendar.
Champion of Formula 3 in 2023 and Formula 2 in 2024, Bortoleto is solidifying his rookie season in the premier category of world motorsport. Despite the challenge of quickly adapting to a new track, the Brazilian shows confidence, especially after the strong performance by the Swiss team in the previous round in Spain, where Stake F1 Team | Kick Sauber introduced significant updates to their car.
“I am looking forward to Montreal. It is a new track for me, and I have been working in the simulator between races to better understand its limits. We came out of Barcelona with encouraging feedback about the updates and the overall potential of the car. Our performance showed that we’ are getting closer to where we want to be — even though there are still steps to take — and seeing Nico’s strong result made me even more motivated. Now, I can not wait for the weekend to begin: the key, as always, will be to stay focused and adapt to whatever comes, making the most of every opportunity,” said the Brazilian driver, who is sponsored by Banco BRB, KitKat, Porto, and Motorola by Snapdragon.
Measuring 4.361 km in length, the Montreal circuit is built on Notre Dame Island and has hosted the Canadian Grand Prix since 1978. Considered a mix between a street circuit and a permanent racetrack, its layout is known for long straights, heavy braking zones, and narrow sections that demand absolute precision from the drivers. Sunday’s race will run for 70 laps, totaling 305.27 km.
